This year's Category Awards were announced at the Filmmaker Reception held October 26, 2008. And the awards went to:

Best Documentary (Tie): "Flunked"
Best Screenplay: "The Eulogist"
Best Junior Film: "Chope"
Best Television Commercial: ""IFC Presents: Behind the Scenes with Dick Chatterly"
Best Animated Film: "Distraxion"
Best Short Film:(Tie) "The Miracle" and "Blindness"
Best Student Film: "Psycho Hillbilly Cabin Massacre!"
Best Narrative Feature: "Boiler Maker"
Best Music Video: "Smak Dem Christians Down"
President's Award: "Armed for the Challenge"

The San Fernando Valley International Film Festival, inc (VIFFI) was founded in March 2003 to promote and encourage the endeavors of our International Creative Community in all known media, by providing exposure to their productions and writings by way of a film and entertainment festival held in the San Fernando Valley.
